Breaking up is hard to do...but sometimes it is necessary to become the person you desire to be. This applies to all relationships in your life.
How do we really know when a relationship is over? If we don't make a move away from a relationship that is no longer serving us, is it holding us back? I think you know the answer to this question. Who would you be if you weren't in this relationship? Who could you be if you weren't in this relationship?
Only you have the power to make yourself happy, nobody else can do that for you. If you aren't happy, take a look around your life and find out what, or possibly who, isn't fulfilling you. What is it that might be holding you back? If you are in a relationship that doesn't make you smile, maybe, just maybe, it's time to move on.
A quote comes to mind as well from the poet/author/speaker David Whyte…”anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you”.
So, what are you waiting for? Make the decision to fill your world with the beautiful people in life, those who inspire you and support you. Choose people who are positive and uplifting, not those who are doubters, haters and negative thinkers. Surround yourself with people whose energy is vibrating at a higher frequency and this will most certainly facilitate positive changes in all areas of your life.
You only have this one life to live now and I am sure you want to be happy. Letting go of people who don’t serve your highest good opens the doors and windows in your life to those that do. When it is time to let go of the old and bring in the new, it’s not a sad time, it is simply a time for change. Change needs to occur for us to grow and prosper. When we make these life changes, it signals to the universe that we are ready for something bigger and more exciting and that we are moving forward on our soul purpose path.
When it becomes time for you to let go and release these relationships, make sure you send them off with gratitude, showing them how grateful you are for what you have learned from them and how you have grown as a person. For if it weren’t for them, you wouldn’t be who you are today and who you are today is what is shaping your future, as you become the best you can be.
The other day, the theme from the “Rocky” movie came into my head. I wasn’t sure why this song, which I had not heard in years, was replaying over and over again. I couldn’t seem to shut it off.
I was actually a young 13-year-old girl when Rocky was released and my Grandmother took me to see the movie. I remember that the theme song, “Gonna Fly Now” was a song, even back then, that I could not seem to get out of my head.
So, why now, after all of these years is the song front and center in my mind? I think I now know why.
All of us experience times in our lives where we feel stalled, stuck or even imprisoned (mostly in our own thoughts). Sometimes it is fear that eats at us and causes us to crawl back into our world of normalcy and then we suppress our desires and dreams. Sometimes we need a hand to pull us up and out of the mud we seem stuck in.
The point is, only you have the ability to create that opening to move forward towards the sheer brilliance that this life has to offer you! Yes, only you! You have to find the crow bar to pull apart the self imposed prison bars. You have to crack the cement and free your feet. You have to put on the fighting gloves and fight your way to contentment. Only YOU have this power, nobody else can do it for you.
When I listen to this song, I picture Sylvester Stallone in his grey sweats running through the streets of Philadelphia. I have this image etched into my brain of him with his boxing gloves on, determined and confident. He had a “knowingness” that he had the power to succeed. This knowingness propelled him forward in spite of the people in his life who doubted him; he just knew he could do it.
We can all use a pair of boxing gloves in our lives. So, next time you are in a fight to be YOU, to be all you can be, free yourself and envision yourself in the fight of your life. Put the imaginary boxing gloves on and VISUALIZE yourself knocking down every wall, every hurdle in front of you. Play the music as it actually might inspire you even more.
You can “FLY NOW”! Learning to visualize moving past the perceived blocks in your life is the perfect start towards moving in the direction of all that life has to offer to you.
