Season of Surrender

Winter…Tis the season of gratitude for all that is present in our lives.

We clearly are the executives of our emotional health. Only we have the innate ability to regulate and supervise our emotional core.

To me, this season is the perfect time to let it all go and give our emotional health a litmus test…figuratively speaking. Of course letting go is a bit like taking a prized possession off to Goodwill. Most of us just love hanging onto our concerns and worries, even being the albatross they are, we tend to choose to keep them around.

What if this year we make a promise to ourselves and our loved ones. What if we let go of all that burdensome crap and focus on the good in our lives. Visually think of packing it all up into a garbage bag and throwing it in the trash can and removing the anguish and irritation from our lives.

I am not saying you have to take the garbage can to the curb, you can certainly park it in the garage until March — I know how we can become attached to our hardships. If we love them that much, we can choose to reinstate the misery, the suffering, the trials and tribulations in the Spring.

But, if we are honest with ourselves, truly honest. We can begin to admit that these difficulties are almost always self-inflicted. We choose to carry the burden. We choose to let the plague fester within our soul.

Let’s make a conscious choice together to let go of the nuisances, the irritations and maybe, just maybe, we can engage in the beauty, grace and blessings of this season and fill our hearts with gratitude. When we acknowledge all of the wondrous things in our lives — regardless of their significance, our emotional core begins to lighten up. We feel the tingling sensation of beauty and peace within our core. We open the door to all things wonderful.

We each have a choice…
